Rugby On The Table.
Sweet memories of high-school days in Changez Rugby will undoubtedly be revisited when our Kenyan sevens’ team graces Los Angeles on February 9-12. I am so there. Rugby is a nonexistent sport in this country, even weak ass lacrosse has more clout than it. The Rugby world cup was offered on Pay Per View in select localities within the country, I had to go to a friends house to order it ($25 it cost me) to watch the England/Australia affair in the wee hours of one cold Sunday morning. This is the closest I’ll get to live action in a while and I’d better take advantage of it! Damn I miss Safari Sevens!
The Ex - The Question
Mr Magaidi (”KT”-now I am told):
What to do about Ex’s? This question dogs relationships the world around. I have a particularly (and uncharacteristically) tight relationship with my ex, which initially was a problem for baby girl. I don’t blame her and never did even back then. On my trip back to Kenya a few years back, she was all nerves wondering what would happen between us (my ex and I) since our break up had been mutual. I tell you this because I frankly didn’t know - I knew what I wasn’t going to do though.
We’ve moved on since. I spoke to her this past December. She hooked up with some other dude and they’ve been together for some years, the guy is now in Seattle, WA and they’re still together. My situation is a unique one. A friend visiting from that area told me the dude has another chic here. My Ex sms’d me, she has no idea and asked me whether if I knew I’d tell her: What to do?
A whole new Me
For the first time I have set goals (not resolutions) but goals which I think are realistic enough for me to achieve this year. These include:
1. Continue to pursue further my education
2. Realize my potential in other areas such as mentoring and helping others on similar career path as I am or aspiring to join me.
3. Communicate more with old man and old lady
4. Be a better partner all round with baby girl.
5. Being better organized.
6. Be more open minded.
I actually wrote them down, to be revisited every quarter and updated on progress. Besides that, my creative juices are flowing. Progress towards #2 already!! I accompanied a very talented buddy to a recording studio recently - let me just say I have a whole new level of respect for Nameless et al.
